The Finnish Electron Microscopy Society is an informal community whose purpose is to bring together practitioners and professionals in electron microscopy. Each year, the community elects an executive director who organises the community’s activities. Operations started in January 2024. The Executive Director in 2024 will be Ville Saarimaa. At the end of the year, the community organizes a meeting to elect the following year’s executive director.
The community organizes its meetings as Teams meetings, the content and themes of which are agreed on the community’s discussion platforms. In Teams meetings, we share information, discuss industry developments, and provide valuable peer support.
The Finnish Electron Microscopy Society is open to anyone interested, and joining the community does not oblige you to anything. Our activities are informal, and therefore any membership fees are not collected. Our goal is to promote networking, learning and education in the field of electron microscopy. Our virtual meetings provide a forum for industry professionals to share their knowledge and experiences.
