Ville is a diligent workman focused on a long-term project to develop steel coatings and corrosion resistance. Ville does not participate directly in TopA’s assignments, but gives its own contribution to our team of experts through its know-how. Ville has worked with Top Analytica since 2009 and is also the Laboratory Security Manager.

Almost every day Ville travels home, either by running, cycling or roller skating. Marathons are a little thing for Ville =)

Katri Toivonen

Katri has been a joyful employee of TopA since 2007. She just never stops smiling =). Every day seems to be a great day and you can see it in her eyes. When you need something just ask Katri and she will handle it. Every office needs her kind of positive person around.

After a day at the office Katri will transform herself into a super saleswoman to sell jewellery as a hobby.

Casimir Näsi

Casimir is mainly working on asbestos analysis and he has been developing asbestos analysis methods for Top Analytica. This is done through the masters thesis project to Åbo Akademi which is done in collaboration with TopA. Casimir also perform EPMA analyses and he is a solid support in IT-related matters.

In the Summers Casimir is glider flying in the skies and in the off season he is busy fiddling with small electronics

Teemu Paunikallio

Strengths: Polymeres, Chemical state analysis, Molecule spectroscopy

Teemu is a hard core chemist who is often seen with his lab coat and safety goggles on making experiments and developing new methods. Large portion of the analytical tasks and Teemu’s responsibilities and chemical state analysis is his best expertise. Dr. Paunikallio has been at TopA since 2008

At the coffee table Teemu is constantly asking trivia questions about chemistry and weird facts seen in science documents.

Eero Itälä

Eero is a former university researcher in the field of gas phase spectroscopy. Eero’s favourite apparatus is TOF-SIMS.

The accelerating need for asbestos analytics at TopA brought Markus into the lab as summer trainee in 2016 and since that he has been an important member of Top Analytica. Nowadays Markus is mainly involved with analytical assignments other than asbestos.

Markus likes for example summer and sailing.

Jussi Hyvönen

Jussi joined the TopA team in 2019 and is a valuable member of the asbestos group.

Jussi is a keen traveller and photographer. Also badminton is important for Jussi.

Stiina Punkkinen

Stiina is a materials chemist who is best at high precision demanding tasks.

Thao (Holiday) Nguyen

Thao is in charge of the GC-MS analytics done at Top Analytica, but she is also tightly involved with other assignments also.
